Just wondering if anyone here has been subject to the TSC's vehicle inspection process at Melbourne airport? And, what happens if they identify defects/non-compliance?
This may be of help: http://taxi.vic.gov.au/drivers/taxi-drivers/penalties-and-enforcement/compliance-services
Helps a little, but doesn't give any information on what happens if they issue you with non-compliance.
Depending on the severity of the non-compliance, you will be issued with a notice of non-compliance and given a few days to fix the issue. Very bad issues will probably be reported to Vic Roads and they (or the police) will get you off the road. Not sure TSC can issue fines just yet. The legistlation is still in the process of becoming the law (not yet finalised as far as i know).
If we are now under the jurisdiction of the TSC, we should be fully allowed to stop in Taxi zones, and fall under all laws relatng to taxi drivers.
