The body representing Melbourne Uber drivers has labelled the company's increase in minimum fares as a "slap in the face" to drivers. The ride-sharing company plans to increase its minimum trip fee to $6.95, up from $6, and add a 55c booking fee to trips in Melbourne from June 9. Ride Share Drivers United say it is happy to see "Uber finally going in the right direction" but the size of the increase is "minuscule". Has anyone else noticed that The Age has been strangely silent since the last two day strike action, through FWC probe and now? Do you think Lucas Groeneveld is paying them to stay off the story? If you look at the paper - anything goes. Absolutely anything. From snake oil informercials to discrimination outcry about some stupid show for girls only. Wage fraud and exploitation of thousands of Victorians under their nose is ignored completely. Can't be accidental.
For sure I am surprised that newscorp have started to go hard Even the australian reporting on local vic rsdu influenced stuff Mind you theage/afr were happy reporting on the fund managers call that gooba is a guaranteed scam as a business
Talked to them this morning. Here it is: http://www.theage.com.au/business/u...-cover-operational-costs-20170528-gwf6zu.html
Another good one: http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/ne...e/news-story/0198ddb62d38e3d2415e43bf56bed736
Herald Sun paper edition today has a little article about the same except 100% feed from 'Uber Spokesman'. Not a word about RSDU or anyone other than Uber. Can't find a digital copy of this article either, as if it doesn't exist .
That article basicly says Uber was sitting with drivers at thier "roundtable meetings". Drivers were concerned about Uber's operational costs and pushed Uber to intrduce a new booking fee of 55 cents on all trips, which drivers are happy to pass to Uber in full while carfully passing the 5 cents of GST to the ATO. Thats a massive pile of BS!! Its all Uber mind games ofcourse, but if ture then i have an incline which drivers Uber probably talked to. Must be the 5 well known moles on that other Uber controlled forum. I will not be surprised one bit
Would that be the same drivers that 'pushed' Uber to reduce fares twice by 15% a pop more than a year ago, because they were 'concerned' about Uber's market share? And would they, by any chance, be the same drivers who 'pushed' Uber to keep these fares where they were for the whole year, round table after round table?
The roundtable claim by Uber is all BS. Identical announcements were made to the different states but with the different amounts and locations inserted, saying it was the result of roundtable meetings.
I found them! The drivers that Uber is talking to at roundtable meetings. The drivers that Uber listens to. The valued partners who happily drive for ~60c/km, Park in the air, Able to wait 30 min for an absent minded passenger, Always have mints, water and spotless car (that produces petrol as it sits in traffic jams), Wear tuxedo and black bow tie, Never need to sleep, eat or do anything other than drive and Who don't mind getting deactivated in a flash for no apparent reason. Here they are:
